Who on earth thought of turning carrot into spoon sweet, I wondered. Popi is the quick answer, and of course several others too\u2026 but the sweet I had in front of me was made by her own hands.<\/span><\/p><div id=\"foodu-1118497914\" class=\"foodu-content foodu-entity-placement\" style=\"margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center;\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-5535285804585877\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-5535285804585877\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"1204250869\" \ndata-ad-layout=\"in-article\"\ndata-ad-format=\"fluid\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<h2>The most distinctive treat<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Popi Aroni is the wife of Giorgos Aronis, owner of the tavern of the same name in Kontogoni, Elafonisos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Popi is one of the kindest personalities you can meet \u2014 since a person\u2019s character takes shape in their presence \u2014 a calm, measured woman, with love for her island, for cooking, and for the people she feeds every day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many of the dishes served at the tavern pass through her hands and her mind.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Popi is the quiet strength behind the communicative and dynamic Giorgos. The two of them have managed to create a tavern with \u201csworn\u201d followers in a rather\u2026 off-the-beaten-path spot.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I have a deep love for \u201chidden\u201d places, those that are not right on the path of the crowds, the kind you need to be told about, and I am almost always proven right for it.
